Robo.ai Inc. expands board with digital asset and finance expertise
Robo.ai Inc. (Nasdaq: AIIO), a UAE-based Nasdaq-listed technology group, has appointed Wang Hao as an independent director of its Board of Directors, strengthening the company’s expertise across digital assets, institutional finance, blockchain technology and emerging technology infrastructure.
The appointment was announced on August 21, 2026, and took effect immediately. Alongside his role as an independent director, Wang will serve on the company’s Audit Committee, Compensation Committee, and Strategy and ESG Committee.
Robo.ai said its Board has determined that Wang satisfies the independence requirements under applicable Nasdaq listing rules and the rules of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The appointment comes as Robo.ai continues to position itself around a broad intelligent infrastructure strategy spanning artificial intelligence, robotics and mobility, advanced manufacturing, and digital assets and capital.
Wang Hao brings 20 years of finance and technology experience
Wang brings approximately two decades of experience across financial services and technology. His professional background includes work in blockchain, asset tokenization, family offices, global macro hedge funds and investment banking.
He currently serves as Senior Executive Officer of Changer.ae, a UAE-based independent digital asset custodian. His current role gives him experience in the rapidly developing digital asset and blockchain ecosystem, an area that forms part of Robo.ai’s broader technology and capital strategy.
Before joining Changer.ae, Wang served as Chief Operating Officer of SGTOX, a digital asset platform established in Singapore. He also previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer at MetaBank, where he worked on the development of blockchain-based technology solutions aimed at developing countries.
His experience also includes senior responsibilities at IDEG Singapore and its affiliated companies. During that period, Wang led the establishment of the group’s global headquarters in Singapore and was involved in the acquisition of its fund management licence.
Earlier in his career, Wang worked in investment banking, including positions at Citi and Nomura, giving him experience across institutional financial markets and global investment operations.
CFA charterholder and fintech professional
Wang has been a CFA charterholder since 2010 and is also a Chartered Fellow of the Global FinTech Institute.
His investment activities include investments in technology and blockchain-focused firms and funds, including Multicoin Capital, Spartan, LongHash Ventures and Blockchain Founders Fund.
His international background is further reflected in his language skills. Wang is trilingual in English, Mandarin and Japanese, while his academic background combines engineering and technology.
He holds degrees in materials engineering from Tsinghua University and the University of Tokyo, two institutions with strong reputations in engineering, science and technology.
Board role aligns with Robo.ai’s intelligent infrastructure strategy
Robo.ai said Wang’s background is directly relevant to the company’s strategy as it develops intelligent infrastructure across multiple technology sectors.
“Mr. Wang brings two decades of experience across institutional finance, digital assets, and asset tokenization,” Robo.ai’s Board said. “His background is directly relevant to Robo.ai’s intelligent infrastructure strategy, and his appointment strengthens the independence and professional depth of the Board.”
The company’s strategy encompasses four principal platforms: artificial intelligence, robotics and mobility, advanced manufacturing, and digital assets and capital.
The addition of a director with experience spanning both traditional finance and digital assets could provide the Board with additional expertise as Robo.ai develops its technology and capital businesses.
Wang succeeds Yehong Ji on the Board
Wang succeeds Yehong Ji, who resigned from Robo.ai’s Board and its committees effective August 11, 2026.
According to the company, Ji confirmed that his resignation was not the result of any dispute or disagreement with the Board or Robo.ai.
The change therefore represents a transition in the company’s Board composition as Robo.ai continues to develop its technology-focused business model.
Wang said he expects to work with the Board to support the company’s governance and long-term development.
“Robo.ai is building intelligent infrastructure across artificial intelligence, robotics and mobility, advanced manufacturing, and digital assets and capital,” Wang said. “I look forward to working with the Board to support the Company’s governance and long-term development.”
Robo.ai focuses on four technology platforms
Robo.ai Inc. describes itself as a technology group focused on building intelligent infrastructure across four major platforms.
The first is artificial intelligence, which forms a central component of the company’s broader technology strategy. The second focuses on robotics and mobility, while the third covers advanced manufacturing.
The company’s fourth platform is digital assets and capital, an area where Wang’s professional background could be particularly relevant.
Robo.ai’s industrial group, Alif Holding, focuses on developing, integrating and manufacturing AI systems. The group serves government, public-sector and mission-critical domains.
The company also operates through Neurovia AI, a subsidiary focused on AI software and visual data infrastructure.
Its capital platform, Quantum Core Capital, operates as an AI-powered deep-tech holding and venture-building platform. It incubates, invests in and operates technology companies.
Together, these businesses form part of Robo.ai’s effort to combine artificial intelligence, industrial technology, advanced manufacturing and capital deployment into a broader intelligent infrastructure ecosystem.
Abu Dhabi headquarters supports regional and global expansion
Robo.ai is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, with regional centres in Tokyo, Singapore and New York.
The company’s geographic footprint reflects its focus on connecting technology, investment and industrial opportunities across multiple markets.
The appointment of Wang, whose career includes significant experience in Singapore’s financial and digital asset sectors as well as work across international investment banking, adds further international financial-market expertise to the company’s leadership structure.
His experience in blockchain and asset tokenization also aligns with Robo.ai’s stated interest in digital assets and capital as one of its four strategic platforms.
Governance becomes increasingly important for Nasdaq-listed technology companies
For a Nasdaq-listed company operating across emerging technologies, Board expertise and governance can play an important role as the business expands into multiple sectors.
Robo.ai said the Board has determined that Wang meets the applicable independence requirements under Nasdaq listing rules and SEC rules.
His membership of the Audit Committee, Compensation Committee, and Strategy and ESG Committee will also place him across several areas of Board oversight.
The combination of financial-market experience, digital asset knowledge, technology exposure and international operating experience gives Wang a broad professional background as he begins his role at Robo.ai.
The appointment also reflects the company’s efforts to build Board capabilities that correspond with its expanding focus on AI, robotics, manufacturing and digital assets.
A broader role for AI and digital asset convergence
Robo.ai’s business strategy reflects a growing convergence between artificial intelligence, industrial technology and digital capital markets.
The company is developing AI systems and infrastructure while also pursuing activities in robotics, mobility, advanced manufacturing and digital assets. Wang’s experience across several of these areas could therefore provide relevant expertise as Robo.ai develops its long-term strategy.
His background in institutional finance and investment banking complements his experience in blockchain and digital assets, potentially providing the Board with a perspective that spans both traditional financial markets and emerging technology-driven financial infrastructure.
With Wang joining the Board and taking positions on three key committees, Robo.ai is adding an executive with a combination of financial, technological and international experience to its governance structure.
The appointment represents another step in the company’s efforts to build its leadership and oversight capabilities as it develops its vision for intelligent infrastructure across AI, robotics, advanced manufacturing and digital assets.
