Dubai OOH advertising contracts reached approximately AED1.5 billion ($408 million) during the first half of 2026, highlighting growing investor interest in the emirate’s out-of-home (OOH) advertising sector.
The contracts covered 683 digital and non-digital advertising assets across Dubai, with 80 local and regional advertising companies participating in tenders launched by Mada Media, the company responsible for organising, developing and managing the emirate’s OOH advertising sector.
The first-half activity also included two new naming rights agreements for stations on the Dubai Metro Red Line. Mada Media said one agreement was signed with a local brand, while the other involved a leading global brand for the first time.
Further details of the global brand agreement are expected to be announced.
Dubai OOH advertising market expands
Mada Media said investment activity in Dubai’s OOH advertising sector increased significantly during the first six months of 2026, supported by a wider range of investment opportunities and the increasing digitalisation of advertising assets.
The tenders covered a combination of digital and traditional advertising formats distributed across key locations and high-traffic roads throughout the emirate.
Among the assets tendered were 27 digital Unipoles and 20 Bridge Banners. The Bridge Banner category included six digital assets and 14 static assets.
The tenders also included four static Hoardings, as well as a number of advertising displays installed on lighting poles and flags.
A significant proportion of existing advertising assets is also being converted into digital formats. Mada Media said the transformation is being carried out using modern advertising-display technologies while following internationally recognised safety standards.
The shift towards digital advertising is expected to create greater flexibility for advertisers while improving the efficiency and investment potential of OOH assets.
Dubai Metro naming rights attract major brands
Dubai Metro station naming rights have emerged as one of Mada Media’s most prominent investment products, attracting interest from local, regional and international brands.
During the first half of 2026, Mada Media signed two naming rights agreements for stations on the Dubai Metro Red Line.
One agreement involves a local company, while the second represents a significant development for the market because it involves a major global brand.
Mada Media oversees naming rights opportunities across both the Red and Green Lines of Dubai Metro.
The company said it plans to expand these opportunities further, describing station naming rights as among the rarest and most important investment opportunities available within Dubai’s OOH advertising ecosystem.
According to Mada Media, these agreements provide brands with long-term visibility and help strengthen their connection with Dubai’s large and diverse community.
80 advertising companies participate in tenders
The strong participation in Mada Media’s tenders reflects the growing investor base within Dubai’s advertising sector.
A total of 80 local and regional advertising companies participated in tenders during the first half of 2026.
Matar Al Tayer, Chairman of Mada Media, said the participation demonstrated strong demand for investment opportunities available in Dubai’s OOH advertising market.
He said the company’s approach aims to balance the economic viability of advertising assets with the interests of private-sector investors and the quality of Dubai’s urban landscape.
Mada Media said its model is designed to create high-quality investment opportunities while ensuring that advertising development remains aligned with Dubai’s visual identity and broader urban-development objectives.
Focus on digital transformation
Digital transformation is becoming a central part of Mada Media’s strategy for the OOH advertising market.
The company is encouraging the digitalisation of a large number of existing advertising assets and promoting the adoption of modern technologies, including advanced advertising screens and programmatic advertising solutions.
Mansoor Al Sabahi, CEO of Mada Media, said the first-half results demonstrated the company’s progress in developing a more efficient and sustainable OOH advertising ecosystem.
He said the variety of advertising assets included in the tenders gave investors opportunities to diversify their investments while encouraging the adoption of digital technologies.
Programmatic advertising is also expected to play a greater role in Dubai’s OOH market as the sector becomes increasingly technology-driven.
The company is exploring solutions that can improve the efficiency and investment value of advertising assets while maintaining safety, sustainability and quality standards.
New opportunities for emerging UAE advertising companies
Mada Media also introduced a dedicated initiative for emerging national advertising companies during the first half of 2026.
The company launched an exclusive tender for emerging national advertising businesses that are members of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, also known as Dubai SME.
A total of 18 emerging national advertising companies participated in the tender.
Mada Media said this was the first time it had launched such a dedicated opportunity for emerging national advertising companies.
The initiative is designed to strengthen the presence and competitiveness of smaller UAE advertising businesses and enable them to secure a share of returns generated by Dubai’s OOH advertising market.
It is also intended to support the growth, resilience and long-term sustainability of emerging companies operating within the sector.
Mada Media seeks regional and global expansion
Mada Media’s strategy extends beyond the development of Dubai’s advertising market.
The company is exploring opportunities to use the expertise, operating model and regulatory framework it has developed in Dubai to expand into other markets.
Its objective is to establish a model for managing and developing OOH advertising ecosystems at both regional and global levels.
The strategy includes expanding investment opportunities, attracting new categories of investors and diversifying the types of advertising assets and solutions available to companies.
Al Sabahi said Mada Media is also working to support local businesses while enabling international companies to expand their networks and operations within Dubai.
The company’s plans include further development of digital advertising infrastructure and expanded Metro station naming-rights opportunities across the Red and Green Lines.
Building a more efficient advertising ecosystem
Since its establishment, Mada Media has focused on creating what it describes as a transparent and efficient regulatory and operational ecosystem for Dubai’s advertising sector.
The company said its framework is intended to streamline procedures and improve the management and operation of advertising assets.
At the same time, Mada Media aims to ensure that increased commercial activity does not compromise Dubai’s visual identity or the quality of its urban environment.
During the first half of 2026, the company introduced additional initiatives aimed at supporting investors and partners, improving business resilience and continuity, and helping advertising companies expand.
Its wider strategy is centred on innovation, digital transformation, new investment opportunities and stronger strategic partnerships.
Alignment with Dubai’s economic vision
Mada Media’s development plans are aligned with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.
The AED1.5 billion in signed OOH advertising contracts during H1 2026 signals the growing economic importance of advertising infrastructure across Dubai.
The expansion of digital assets, increased participation from advertising companies and growing demand for Metro station naming rights are contributing to a broader transformation of the sector.
With digitalisation becoming more prominent and global brands increasingly showing interest in Dubai’s advertising platforms, Mada Media expects the OOH market to undergo further transformation in the coming period.
The company’s focus on technology, sustainability, investment diversification and international expansion could further strengthen Dubai’s position as a major regional market for sophisticated out-of-home advertising.
